Bio
Sophia Uddin is an aspiring physician-scientist and musician from the Baltimore, Maryland area. She completed her PhD in computational neuroscience at the University of Chicago in Dr. Howard Nusbaum's lab, and is currently in her final year of medical school at the Pritzker School of Medicine.
Sophia's research interests include auditory processing, top-down cognitive effects on sensory systems, and the effects of sleep and working memory on learning. She hopes to attend otolaryngology residency and build a career as a surgeon-scientist.
Sophia is also an accomplished violinist, performing with a wide array of ensembles in the Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Chicago areas. She studied violin with Barbara Govatos of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and composition with Gerald Levinson at Swarthmore College.
